The Accommodation.

McKarach House
provides strictly non-smoking, self-catering accommodation for up to 4 persons + cot for periods of 3 nights or more. The single storey, detached property is a family home and is available to guests for temporary accommodation at various times throughout the year. Comprising of entrance hall, fully equipped kitchen, utility room, large lounge, separate dining room, two bedrooms (One double with king size bed, en-suite shower room & one twin bedroom), family bathroom, full central heating and off road parking. There is also a private garden for enjoying the best of summer days. The price includes all bed linen, towels, heating fuel and electricity. A travel cot is available with bedding on request. There are no hidden extras.  

The Location.
Located in the ancient Perthshire village of Abernethy, 8 miles from The Fair City of Perth and just 3 miles from The Kingdom of Fife, this 2 bedroom detached bungalow is ideally situated for visits by car to Perth (20 minutes), Dundee (40 minutes), Edinburgh (1 hour) and Stirling (50 minutes). The famous St. Andrews, Gleneagles and Carnoustie golf courses are within easy driving distance, as is The Cairngorms National Park. The picturesque Glens around Perthshire and Angus are also worth visiting and there are many walking and mountain biking trails as well. Fishing, Shooting and Stalking can all be found within the area.

Glamis Castle, home of the Earl and Countess of Strathmore and Kinghorne, is a most beautiful Castle and was the childhood home of HM Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother. This is around an hour away by car.

Scone Palace
(pronounced Scoon) just 20 minutes by car on the outskirts of Perth, was the crowning place of Scottish kings where Macbeth, Robert the Bruce and Charles II were once crowned. It is the family home of the Earls of Mansfield and the ancient crowning place of Scottish kings on the stone of Scone.

Balmoral Castle
. The Scottish holiday home to the Royal Family. In 2016 the grounds, gardens, exhibitions, gift shop and coffee shop will be open to the Public on a daily basis from Friday 25th March until Sunday 31st July.  Opening times are from 10.00 a.m. until 5.00 p.m. however please note that the last recommended admission is at 4.30 p.m. approximately. This is around 2 hours from Abernethy. For Scotch Whisky lovers there are many distilleries within Perthshire, Angus and Fife, some open to the public offering tours and tastings. With easy access to the motorway systems, other destinations such as Glasgow and Aberdeen are able to be visited within a day.

Price for any available period within the year is £575 total per week for up to 4 persons + cot. (Any day arrival)

McKarach House is a non-smoking family home and we ask that guests treat it with respect.

1. The Hirer shall have the right to occupy the Property specified on the confirmation for the agreed period.
2. The Hirer is responsible for the safety of all children in the booked party while staying in the property
3. The property is for the sole use of the named persons in the booked party & no other persons other than those in the booked party may stay in the property. No visitors are allowed without prior permission from the management as this may incur extra charges.
4. The booking is not transferable.
5. In the event of non-arrival or cancellation by the Hirer within 6 weeks of the date of arrival, the full amount due is payable.
6. In the unlikely event of the owners having to cancel any confirmed booking, their liability will be limited to the refund in full of any monies paid.
7. Unless otherwise specified, a deposit is not required. Payment in full on arrival in pounds sterling or by bank transfer or British cheque, at the latest, 6 weeks before arrival.
8. The Hirer will permit the owners or his agents the right of entry to the property for the purpose of inspection or to carry out repairs.
9. The arrangement of any cancellation/theft/damage insurance cover required by the Hirer is the responsibility of the Hirer.
10. Bed linen, towels, electricity, heating and water is provided with no extra charge.
11. Bookings are from 14:00 on day of arrival to 10:30 on day of departure unless otherwise agreed
12. Guests are requested not to cause annoyance or nuisance to neighbours and to leave the property in a clean and tidy condition.
13. No pets are allowed in the cottages.
14. The owners reserve the right to evict from their property, any persons at any time deemed by them to be in breach of these terms and conditions without refund of any monies paid.
15. The supplied guest registration form must be completed by all guests before departure.
